Directing and Teaching

Andrea Bertola is a professional director based in New York City. Most recently, she directed a sold-out benefit production of The Vagina Monologues at the Triad Theater in NYC.The Triad has been the original home to 3 of the 20 longest running Off-Broadway shows. Other production credits include: MCC Theater, HERE Arts Center, Comix Comedy Club, Comedy Central and the Palm Beach Film Festival.  

In 2008, Andrea conceived the idea for The SMUT Show (Scandalous Mayhem Under Tinseltown). This production was a first-of-it's-kind parody based on celebrity culture that provided the same fix of Hollywood gossip in theatre form. The show opened at Comix Comdey Club to  sold-out audiences. Andrea received a Masters degree in Educational Theatre from New York University, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Adelphi University and studied in London at the London Dramatic Academy. She is a member of  Phi Lambda Theta (the most selective national honor society of educators). In 2010, Andrea was proud to be awarded a New York University Certificate of Distinction at Radio City Music Hall. This honor recognizes outstanding academic achievements, leadership and service to the New York University Community.

While teaching/directing is her passion, Andrea is also an actress eligible to join the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) after working on such projects as The Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada and reenactments for the Maury Povich Show. She is also a producer who has a multitude of networking connections with Casting Directors and Talent Agents in the industry. From time to time she enjoys bringing them into her advanced classes to give her students the opportunity to meet working professionals.

Andrea has taught students of all ages across the Tri-State area, most notably at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute working with the Young Actors Program.
